2. Where Do I Enter Data?
eFile will guide you through entering all types of income. You will be prompted to enter Form 1099-INT and 1099-DIV under the Dividends and Interest section. Have any forms ready and enter them as they apply.
3. How to Manually Add Data
To manually add your form, navigate to Federal Taxes > Review > I'd like to see the forms I've filled out or search for a form and enter "1099-DIV" or "1099-INT." You can then fill out the details based on your form(s).
4a. 1099-DIV Box Descriptions
There are many boxes on the form, but below are the most common that will be filled in.
1a: Ordinary dividends
1b: Qualified dividends
2a: Total capital gain distribution
14-16: State details.
4b. 1099-INT Box Descriptions
Below are the most common 1099-INT boxes that will be filled in.
1: Interest income
2: Early withdrawal penalty
3: Interest on U.S. Savings Bonds and Treasury obligations
4: Federal income tax withheld
6: Foreign tax paid
8: Tax-exempt interest
15-16: State details.
