Tax Declarations, Statement, Forms, and Documents

There are three types of tax forms you may receive following a tax year. Most tax forms should be received shortly after the tax year; for example, you should receive your 2022 Tax Forms in early 2023. This includes IRS tax forms as well as state tax forms, such as your W-2 or W2 which would show your wages earned, taxes withheld, and other information. Below, each section has a description with instructions on what to do with each type of form you may receive.

Types of Tax Forms

Below, navigate to each item for various forms you may have received. Some forms require you to report them on your tax return; some are informational forms that you should store for your own records. Businesses and financial institutions generally fill out one or more IRS forms and then issue an additional form to the recipient of the income which they use to file their own taxes.

When you e-file your taxes on eFile.com, you will enter simple figures from the tax forms you receive. eFile handles all the calculations and IRS forms and saves you from mailing IRS forms. Already have all your forms? See how to start a return online on eFile.com.
